Amidst standoff with China, India and Philippines on Friday enhance its ties in defence engagement and maritime cooperation. This tie includes military training and procurement of defence equipments such as maritime domain awareness (MDA).

According to MEA both sides agree to strengthen defence engagement, maritime corporation, training, education, capacity building, regular goodwill visits, procurement of defence equipment etc. At a time when both China and India are engaged at Ladakh, this tie with Philippines is crucial in South China Sea region.
